It’s been a busy few weeks here at COMET, our team has been to different countries for industry events and client visits, we hired some great new talent, carried out many training sessions and even rallied for some good causes. It’s been a busy start to the summer here at COMET, take a look at what our team has been up to.
COMET Training
At COMET, we help organisations build risk intelligence and resilience through tailored investigation and leadership training, as well as specialist support services. Our team works closely with clients to design and deliver sustainable learning programmes that go beyond one-off events, embedding long-term capability and strengthening safety culture from within, here’s a look at some of this in action.
- Our Head of Learning and Development, Craig Smith, delivered 18 training courses in June, reaching a total of eight of our valued clients. These clients span five different industries, with the training ranging from COMET software sessions to our specialised "Safety First" course, designed specifically to address safety challenges in ports.
- Natalia Peisert, Learning and Development Delivery visited Forth Ports in Tilbury and Grangemouth Lead to deliver Safety Culture. The training explored human limitations, behavioural safety, and the impact of everyday choices.

Other noticeable events
It’s definitely been a busy few weeks, Paul also attended the OEUK Safety Awards, meeting new connections in the aviation and energy organisations. Meanwhile, Natalia attended the ECITB Provider Forum in Manchester, joining fellow training providers to explore how AI, data, and evolving skills needs are shaping the future of workforce development across high-risk industries.
Supporting Good Causes
- Our CFO Steve Mitchell cycled 150 miles around the North East of Scotland as part of the ‘Kick the Ball campaign’, helping raise funds for the UCAN Charity SURE Unit. This initiative aims to fast-track urological cancer diagnosis, reducing wait times from months to days. We are very proud of Steve for taking part, so far the cycle has raised over £20,000!
- Brenda was recognised by Robert Gordon University for her mentorship and contribution to student-led marketing campaigns through COMET. We value the opportunity to support future professionals while gaining fresh perspectives in return. As our relationship with RGU continues to grow, we are excited to see what comes next.
- The team came to the office armed with teddy bears for the AberNecessities ‘Teddy Bear Picnic’. The local charity, who do great work in our local area encouraged companies to host the event, and we couldn’t say no. We hope that they find great new homes with those who need.
Driving Innovation, Globally
COMET had a fantastic week in Chicago with implementation partner Arcadis, progressing exciting opportunities to integrate COMET into some of the world’s most advanced EHS digital systems.
These collaborations are helping clients take their incident prevention strategies further by using AI-assisted, human-led solutions built on real domain expertise.
