We're pleased to announce that COMET is the official sponsor of "Auld Pals: An Evening with the Stars of Still Game", the debut event from Scotland's new events company, Black Tartan.

The show takes place at Aberdeen Music Hall and is almost completely sold out, with more than 1,200 tickets already gone. We're glad to be playing a small part in what should be a great night for fans of one of Scotland's most loved TV shows.

"COMET is delighted to sponsor "Auld Pals", an evening with the fantastic cast of Still Game - a show that fast became a National Institution! We welcome them to Aberdeen where Tam will love our generosity, Bobby will revel in our banter, and Isa will have a great time chatting to the fish wifies down at Fittie! Still Game really is Scotland at its creative best, well done to Black Tartan for bringing the cast together in Aberdeen, and thank you to our wonderful customers enjoying what will be a wonderful evening of laughter with us!"

– Mark Rushton, CEO

Why this partnership?

When we met the team at Black Tartan, we saw a shared mindset, challenging the usual way of doing things, thinking differently, and keeping people at the heart of it.

As an Aberdeen-founded company now working with organisations around the world, we care about supporting initiatives that help strengthen our local community.

A word from Black Tartan

Johnny Brooks, CEO of Black Tartan, said:

"I'm extremely grateful to COMET for this, as a brand new events company selling out your first show is an absolute dream come true. Coupling that with an amazing, well-respected sponsor like this is just the cherry on top."

Thanks to this collaboration, there may be a few extras waiting for fans on the night.

"In typical Black Tartan fashion, we haven't simply pocketed the profit from this either... I don't want to spoil it, but almost 100 of our attendees on the night are in for a real treat with a couple of special surprises, that were made possible thanks to our backing from the guys at COMET."

Full circle

The partnership comes at an exciting time for us, following the recent launch of our new podcast, “The Risk Factor”, which was filmed by Johnny and his team at Studio 10 prior to the events company kicking off...

In our podcast, we explore leadership, investigation, safety and learning in complex, high-risk industries, and have some incredible organisations and industry experts taking part.

It's good to see Aberdeen businesses coming together, combining technology, creativity, and community.

We're looking forward to seeing Aberdeen Music Hall filled with laughter, and it seems only fitting that COMET is bringing together the stars...
